Ed Sheeran announced he is going to be taking a break from music this time last year on Instagram, as he wanted to prioritize his family after the success of his last album and tour, Divide.
Fans of Ed Sheeran can rejoice as the artist hinted at his return to music when responding to fans’ questions, commenting, “All very valid questions, you’ll know at least one answer soon.” Another comment by him said, “Lurky Lurk.. and it’s very soon x” His newest single is reportedly titled Afterglow and has already sent fans wild. Rumour has it, the single will drop on December 21, 2020, ahead of Christmas.
The 29-year-old artist recently became a father to his daughter Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran with his wife Cherry. The Shape of You star shared the happy news on Instagram on September 1, with the caption reading, “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x”
