Dubai Police are stepping up their game against tailgaters! Radars will now monitor and fine drivers who fail to maintain a safe distance.
Previously, violators only got a warning, but that’s changing. A Dh400 fine and four black points now await those who drive too close for comfort. Authorities launched awareness campaigns, but with tailgating on the rise, stricter enforcement is here.
At a press conference, Brigadier Engineer Mohammed Ali Karam confirmed that radars, powered by AI, have been tested to ensure accuracy.
But that’s not all—these radars will also catch:
Speeders – Fines up to Dh3,000, vehicle impoundment, and black points based on how fast you go on the given speed limit.
Red Light Jumpers – Dh1,000 fine, impoundment, and 12 black points.
Noisy Vehicles – Dh2,000 fine and 12 black points for excessive noise.
Distracted Drivers – Dh800 fine for using a phone while driving.
Lane & Shoulder Violations – Fines ranging from Dh400 to Dh1,500.
Ignoring Pedestrians – Dh500 fine and six black points.
Authorities stress that these measures aim to make Dubai’s roads safer. So, stay alert, follow the rules, and keep a safe distance—because now, radars are watching!
