Young actor Shantanu Maheshwari who has always won audience’s hearts with his fun outings and dance performances in campus-capers, went on to garner critical acclaim as an actor for Gangubai Kathiawadi that recently marked its 3-year anniversary since release. And the actor admits that it was his subtle yet impactful role as Afsaan, with which Shantanu brought old-world romance to life, that he not only gained mainstream popularity but also redefined how people see him as an actor.
Shantanu took to Instagram, pouring his heart out in a heartfelt post about the profound impact Gangubai has had on his life. He expressed immense gratitude to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for placing his trust in him, recognizing how the film has shaped him both as an actor and as a person. Shantanu also extended his thanks to Alia Bhatt, the casting director, the costume designer, and everyone else behind the scenes, acknowledging their contributions to making the film a life-changing experience for him.
