Hide your dalmatians now! Disney just revealed the arrival date for the infamous, glamorous villain of all time — Cruella! The movie titled Cruella will release in theatres on May 28, 2021! Starring Emma Stone as Cruella De Vil, the movie promises to be a captivating watch, to say the least.
The live-action feature film will be an origin story for Cruella De Vil, who emerged on our screens to scare us in 101 Dalmatians (1996) in the form of Glenn Close. The upcoming movie will be directed by I, Tonya’s talented director Craig Gillespie, and is written by Fifty Shades of Grey’s Kelly Marcel, Dana Fox, Tony McNamara, Ford v Ferrari’s Jez Butterworth and The Devil Wears Prada’s, Aline Brosh McKenna. These talented creators will tell the story of Cruella De Vil in London in the 70s, and how she became so notably obsessed with dog skins.
With Emma Stone in the lead, the movie will also star Paul Walter Hauser, Joel Fry, Mark Strong, and Emma Thompson, among the other talented actors the Disney live-action is bound to have. While we won’t see Glenn Close in the flesh as Cruella in the movie, the Oscar-nominated actress is the executive producer for the movie.
