Directed by Raghava Lawrence, Laxmmi Bomb starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani will have a Diwali release on Disney Plus Hotstar.
While it was known that the makers were planning to release Laxmmi Bomb around Diwali this year on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar, they have finally put all speculation to rest by announcing the film’s release date officially. The horror-comedy that stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani is slated to premiere digitally on November 9.
Akshay took to his Instagram account to announce the date. “Iss Diwali aapke gharon mein “laxmmi” ke saath ek dhamakedar “bomb” bhi aayega. Aa rahi hai #LaxmmiBomb 9th November ko, only on @disneyplushotstarvip! Get ready for a mad ride kyunki #YehDiwaliLaxmmiBombWaali,” Akshay posted, alongwith a teaser video of his transformation from Laxman to Laxmmi in the film. Check out the post right here:

The film that was scheduled to have a theatrical Eid release earlier this year (May, 2020) was postponed due to the coronavirus global pandemic. And after a wait for theatres to open up, the makers then opted to have an OTT release instead and in the end of June announced that it will premiere digitally on Disney+ Hotstar, though the date was not revealed.
The film helmed by Raghava Lawrence is a remake of his Tamil hit Muni 2: Kanchana (2011) and marks the noted filmmaker’s directorial debut in Bollywood. Akshay Kumar had created quite a buzz with his first look as a man possessed by the spirit of a transgender in the film’s posters. The film also marks Kiara’s foray into the horror-comedy genre. Besides the two stars, the cast includes Tusshar Kapoor and Prachee Shah and is produced by Cape of Good Films, Tusshar Kapoor, Shabinaa Khan and Fox Star Studios.
