Releasing on Independence Day, Mission Mangal is an action-packed movie inspired by the hard-working scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The movie has a strong patriotic feel and is bound to make people feel closer to their home country, Mother India.
“There is no science without experiment” is the opening statement of the film. A bold statement which sets the tone for the rest of the movie.
The trailer follows Akshay Kumar as Rakesh Dhawan, the Mission Director, carefully bringing together a team of passionate scientists from different backgrounds and focusing them towards a common, seemingly impossible, goal. They face quite a few challenges along the way, portrayed by the scene in which their head is dumbfounded at their ability to make Mission Mangal possible.
The fact that the seven-person team consists of five women, namely Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menon and Kirti Kulhari is truly empowering. We also see Sharman Joshi and veteran actor H.G. Dattatreya in the film carrying their duties to the fullest.
An uplifting movie with an exceptionally strong hold, is the one to watch out for.
