Varun Dhawan on why he would not take relationship advice from Alia Bhatt

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt made their Bollywood debut together in Dharma Productions’ Student Of The Year and ever since then there has been no looking back for these two. Proving to be the best bets in Bollywood today, Varun and Alia have zillions going gaga about their sizzling on-screen chemistry. More than being great co-stars, these two are known to share great rapport personally. As we caught up with our cover star Varun Dhawan for a quick chat, the actor spoke about his industry BFF – Alia and his equation with her. Not just that, VD also mentions why he would not take relationship advice from her.

Here’s what he said:

Alia Bhatt and you are being dubbed as are the new age SRK-Kajol. What’s the best part of working with her?

The best thing is she helps me with my character. She does all the work. She cracks my character. She also gives me references. (Laughs) Until she doesn’t do that, there’s a lot of friction on the sets. Till that doesn’t happen, I’m not happy with her. If she doesn’t act out my scenes, she’s not doing her job as a co-star.

Has your equation with her changed over the years?

We’re pretty much the same. As you do more films, the love and respect grows for each other. During Kalank I told Alia, ‘You have become old’.  I’ve seen her since she was so small yaar. Even she says that I’ve aged and my beard is growing faster.

Do you give her ‘relationship advice’?

No, please! I’ll not take that from her either. She’s the last person I’ll take relationship advice from. One good thing about our friendship is that we don’t discuss those aspects of our lives with each other. Our discussions are around work because both of us are equally driven about our careers. But yes most of the time, we end up making fun of each other.
