1. Flamingos, Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.
Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is located just a few minutes drive from Dubai Mall. More than 20,000 birds of 67 species inhabit the area, which is most famous for its magnificent flock of flamingos. To see them, head to one of three viewing hides dotted around the perimeter of the sanctuary. These are open from 9am to 4pm Saturday to Thursday, and entrance is free. There are binoculars available to borrow too.

2. Snoopy Island, Fujairah
Named after the cartoon dog, which the island is said to resemble in shape, Snoopy Island is a marine paradise offering some of the best snorkeling in the GCC. Turtles, fish every colour of the rainbow and even little white-tip reef sharks have made this sparkling cerulean sea their home.

3. Stairway to Heaven, Ras Al Khaimah
Did you know that Ras Al Khaimah is home to a Stairway To Heaven? The breathtaking mountain trail, located in Wadi Ghalilah near the Oman border, is not for the faint-hearted – only experienced climbers should attempt it – but making it up the 1,900 meters to the top will score you an epic photo.

4. The Last Exit, Jebel Ali
Last Exit is a first of its kind themed food truck concept offering some of the tastiest street food in Dubai. It an open chilled and convenient atmosphere designed to let your imagination run wild.

5. Al Qudra, Oasis
It’s one of Dubai’s top hidden gems! It’s only 50 minutes away from downtown. The few manmade lakes which compose the oasis is with no doubt the perfect picnic spot for a quiet day. And the most exciting part about the oasis is the dozens of birds; flamingos and swans that live in the Qudra oasis, it’s literally the most exciting thing to see there.

6. Big Red Sand Dune
A striking red sand dune in the middle of the Al Badayer Desert, just a quick drive from the city of Dubai, Big Red offers some of the best tracks through the desert to hike, bike, or drive through for an exhilarating look at the UAE’s more wild side. This is one of those places that the UAE seems to keep secret, and that only those who truly want to discover the beauty of the desert will uncover!

7. Mangroves National Park, Abu Dhabi
With its lush green water channels and thriving mangrove trees, this protected natural wildlife area in Abu Dhabi is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the country. The best way to explore this nature reserve is by boat, allowing you to get up close to its variety of wildlife and nature.

8. Hatta Dam,
If you are looking for a peaceful spot than Hatta Dam is the place for you. A 90-minute drive from Dubai, rent a kayak or pedal boat and float along the glimmering waters surrounded by the rugged mountains. Instagram shot encouraged.
