From the Backstreet Boys heading on global tour to Ryan Reynolds’ new film, boy bands are back in the limelight.
New father Ryan Reynolds has a spot of good news for his fans. The Deadpool actor has begun work on a new comedy, titled Boy Band. It’s a musical about the reunion of a… you guessed it, a boy band. He dons multiple hats for this one. He’s penned the script with Jesse Andrews (of Me & Earl); he’ll bring his acting chops to the table, and he’s producing it.

They’re currently considering Shawn Levy to direct the film, Reynolds having collaborated with him often. They’ve worked together on Free Guy, Adam Project, and most recently, on Deadpool 3; Their camaraderie is shining through on this project! The plot is a heavily guarded secret between the two Canadian besties, and of course, that spikes our interest.

Reynolds’ 2022 release Spirited was proof enough that he knows a thing or two about musical comedies, with him playing the lead character alongside Will Ferrell. very soon though, you’ll see Reynolds on the silver screen in Deadpool 3.
