Time and again several ad filmmakers have made a gradual transition to filmmaking in Bollywood. Right from veteran Shyam Benegal to Pradeep Sarkar to Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra, R Balki, Shoojit Sircar, Dibakar Banerjee, amongst several others. Now the latest name to join this list is Rajesh Krishnan. The ad filmmaker who has directed some of the biggest stars of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan – in commercials is now making his Bollywood directorial debut with the Kunal Kemmu starrer Lootcase.
The comedy-drama was initially slated to release theatrically on April 20, but was delayed due to the pandemic. Lootcase that also stars Gajraj Rao, Rasika Duggal, Ranvir Shorey and Vijay Raaz will now release directly on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar.
While the release date is yet to be announced, the impressive cast is already arousing much interest. Backed by Fox Star Studios, the film is said to revolve around a middle-aged family man who comes across a suitcase full of money.
