“Vikrant Massey’s character in Blackout is unlike what he has played before,” shares writer-director Devang Bhavsar
After the success of the 12th Fail, Vikrant Massey will next be seen in the crime thriller comedy Blackout. The teaser of the film was recently out and has received a lot of love. The movie is written and directed by debutant director Devang Bhavsar and features a talented ensemble cast, including Mouni Roy, Sunil Grover, Jisshu Sengupta, Chhaya Kadam, Prasad Oak and Instagram sensations Karan Sonawane and Saurabh Ghadge.
The debutant director shared that he got to learn a lot from Vikrant during the shoot. He says, “Vikrant was very professional. He is a trained actor I got to learn a lot from him given it’s my first film. He was always in his character Lenny, the moment he stepped outside his van. He is an actor who comes with a lot of hard work and homework before coming on the set. He is a director’s delight. In Blackout, the audience will see Vikrant as a completely different character. He has not played anything like this. He didn’t shy away, he has gone all out to give the best.”
Talking about the film, the director further shares that Blackout explores how a man’s greed leads him into a world full of chaos and while shooting the actors fed off each other’s energy to deliver outstanding performances.
Devang adds, “Every person has two sides, with a bit of gray in everyone. This concept was the driving force behind the film. Through Blackout, I aimed to depict how humans behave when greed takes over. People are always drawn to wealth. This film is character-driven, featuring a fantastic ensemble cast, each bringing their best performance. They all drew energy from one another. We’ve made sure the audience will be captivated by all the twists and turns. Blackout is relatable, funny, and entertaining. I am sure the audience will enjoy it.”
