Cold Case released on Amazon Prime yesterday.
A human skull is found from the backwaters, and ACP Sathyajith IPS (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is assigned to investigate the case. Meanwhile, Medha Padmaja (Aditi Balan), a journalist and single mother shifts to a new house with her little daughter Chinnootty, where she experiences paranormal activities.
Sathyajith and Medha proceed with their respective investigations and reach a common point. What happens next thickens the plot. The movie revolves around a murder that happens in the capital city of Kerala, Trivandrum. The movie features Prithviraj Sukumaran in the role of ACP Sathyajith IPS.
Cold Case also stars Aditi Balan, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, Suchitra Pillai and Athmeeya Rajan in prominent roles. The movie is produced by Anto Joseph and directed by Tanu Balak.
Cold Case is the actor’s first film to release on an OTT platform. The film is ad-filmmaker and cinematographer Tanu Balak’s first as director. His last film, was as cinematographer for Of The People in 2008. “I got busy making ad-films, hence the 13-year break,” he explains. He worked with scenarist Sreenath V Nath on the script during the lockdown, “Almost 80% of it was done during the pandemic.” It was shot over 45 days in November-December, 2020 in Thiruvananthapuram.
