Ludo First Look Review: Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao and Fatima Sana Shaikh look intriguing

Anurag Basu’s Ludo boasting of an ensemble cast was scheduled to release on 24th April. However, delayed due to the pandemic, the dark comedy is now slated to release on Netflix. The first look of the much-awaited film, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Pankaj Tripathi is out, as the makers gave us a glimpse of the lead actors – Abhishek, Aditya, Sanya, Fatima and Rajkummar. Like in the game of Ludo, the film’s tag line suggests that it revolves around ‘four players, who take fate into their own hands in a high stakes game and where nothing is a co-incidence’. Clearly, the four leads are involved in some sort of a hustle in this dark anthology comedy.

Fatima Sana Shaikh and Rajkummar Rao show off their swag in Ludo

Going by their looks alone, the characters do look intriguing, especially Abhishek. A far cry from his suave image, the actor looks like he’s playing a local, street-smart kind of a goon and we definitely want to see what he’s got up his sleeve in this one. Fatima and Rajkummar Rao’s looks too raise our curiosity bars, as the actor in what looks like a Sanjay Dutt-inspired hairstyle and a swag to match, is seen walking with Fatima who is carrying a child in arms and looking stunning in a red sequinned short dress. Rajkummar has a child essentials bag slung across and we do not know the circumstances but the two seem to have a certain attitude, even as they are followed by three men.

Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur in Ludo

Sanya Malhotra looks interesting in a desi red lehenga-choli avatar sporting a pair of sun-glasses. Aditya on the other hand, looks his usual self (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani anyone?!) though after Malang, we know that the actor can easily surprise anyone with his performance. The film is said to follow the separate lives of the lead actors, but it is being speculated that they do intersect at some point in the movie, much like in Basu’s Life in a… Metro. Ludo is being much-looked forward to, after the filmmaker’s impressive releases in the past including Barfi! (2012) and Jagga Jasoos (2017).

So, what do you think about the first look of Ludo, let us know!
