But it’s not Ram Charan or Jr NTR who will be performing; leading names of Telugu cinema, Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava are the chosen ones. Sipligunj wore many hats to reach this global stage – he started off as a YouTuber, went on to lend his voice to soundtracks for films such as Eega and Rangasthalam, and won the Telugu Big Boss, before landing is Oscar debut. For Bhairava, on the other hand, it was a more homely affair, as his father is MM Keeravani, who has composed Naatu Naatu. Bhairava has sung for many other films too.

In keeping with the tradition to perform the nominated songs on stage, the young Indians will be accompanied by Rihanna, and Stephanie Hsu and Son Lux, as they give voice to their respective songs.
