Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye will star together in a new rom com

From Heirs to here

We last saw Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye as their much younger selves, back in 2013, and two are set to unite as main leads for JTBC’s Doctor Slump. A story of burnout, the series will explore the modern phenomenon and how the key characters overcome it, finding love along the way. Another way to categorise this drama would be Enemies to Lovers.

Both actors play accomplished doctors who have been top students through academia. Having lived a highly sheltered life and after a few years of all work and no play, we see them fall into a slump. And of course, needless to say, the’re also rivals. But it is at such a tough time in their lives that their destinies are intertwined, and they help each other cross over to the other side to lead more joyous lives. We’ve seen Hyung Sik ace his romantic-comic role in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, so it comes as a spot of good news that he sticks to the genre.

Be prepared for the Second Lead syndrome, as Yoon Bak and Gong Seung Ha also star as doctors, with their own subplot. Doctor Slump will be directed by Oh Hyun Jong of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo; the script is written by Baek Sun Wo of the immensely popular What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.
