Actress Vijayalakshmi attempted suicide on Sunday evening (July 26) after she uploaded a video on her Facebook handle. The South actress, who has been in the spotlight for speaking against a politician, is now admitted to a private hospital in Chennai, where she is under treatment. She is responding well to the treatment and recovering, as per sources close to her. ‘This is my last video’, read her last update on social media.
In her clip, the Nagamandala actress alleged that she was harassed by the followers of Naam Thamizhar party leader Seeman and Panangattu Padai’s Hari Nadar. She claimed that the men had been humiliating and torturing her. She further said, ‘You slut shamed me to make me feel the pain and it is up to me to decide on what to do after facing such insults from you.’ She requested her fans to not let her offenders get away from the case, and never get an anticipatory bail. “My death should be a big eye opener to everyone,” she said.
