5 essentials for healthy and glowing skin!

Skin is the largest organ in human body and needs to be taken care of on a daily basis. Making time each day for your skincare routine should be a must to do with no excuses but we understand how a lot of information surrounding skincare can be overwhelming.  While skin is capable of taking care of itself, we can still adopt healthy skin practices to prevent damage.

Here are 5 essential tips for your skin to function better:

Avoid Oxidation

Oxidation leads to break down of the skin from free radicals produced by cigarette smoke, pollution and solar radiations. Hence it is necessary to protect your skin from free radical damage by applying SPF protection and using antioxidants such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Selenium.


Cleanse, Hydrate, Moisturize!

Memorize it to never forget. A skincare routine doesn’t have to be complicated, making sure you remove your dead skin cells and keep your skin nourished is enough. Cleansing includes a good cleanser and an exfoliator, cleanser has to be used daily whereas an exfoliator can to be used twice a week. Once you ensure your skin is clean, hydrating it with right serum and then the moisturizer is very important as it re-hydrates the skin and keeps it nourished. Last for surface level but not the least, using a sunscreen all year round to protect your skin is an essential step to follow.

Nutritious diet

Your skin sure is what you eat and that is why it’s important to make sure the intake of all the required nutrients. Fruits and vegetables are to be included in your diet as they not only provide required nutrients but also help fight free radicals. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables doesn’t only have skin specific benefits, it also helps your body to function better.

Water

If you are reading this please have a glass of water before moving on and set reminders for yourself if you often forget to drink enough water. Skin does get some water during showers and baths but it soaks up most of the water from inside and you responsible for not providing it sufficient water. Dehydration can lead to various skin conditions and you don’t want that so please drink water.

Lifestyle: Sleep, stress and relax

It is very difficult to not take stress in these modern times but it’s easier to manage it and having a good sleep schedule can help you solve most of your problem. While we zone out our skin repairs and develops damaged skin cells and it’s important for giving it it’s time & at least 7 hours of sleep is essential for that much needed healthy skin.
