Death On The Nile Trailer: Will Ali Fazal and Gal Gadot finally share screen space in Kenneth Branagh’s Hercule Poirot murder mystery?

Kenneth Branagh is back as Agatha Christie’s much-loved fictional detective Hercule Poirot in Death On The Nile. And after his last adventure on a train in Murder On The Orient Express (2017), he hops on to a cruise-boat for this one. “The romance of the desert has the power to seduce,” booms Poirot’s heavily-accented baritone as the intriguing trailer rolls and throws you right into the center of the murder mystery on a cruise in Egypt.

The plot seems simple enough. A world of glitz and glam, a husband passionately attracted to another woman leading to a clandestine affair, a jealous wife, a murder, and a boatful of suspects! Yet the mystery is anything but simple, as Poirot finds out, when he’s called in to investigate the murder. The music score adds to the air of mystery with ease, lending heavily to the intrigue and recreating the glamour of the bygone era. A fan of the Poirot series or not, the trailer will have you hooked and waiting for the film when it releases on October 23rd.

Kenneth Branagh as Detective Hercule Poirot in Death on the Nile

Joining Kenneth Branagh on screen for this thriller based on Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel of the same name, are a dozen acclaimed actors. Directed by Branagh himself, the adaptation stars Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Emma Mackey, Tom Bateman, Ali Fazal, Letitia Wright, Russell Brand, Rose Leslie, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, Annette Bening and Dawn French.

But a question that’s looming large on our minds is also whether the Fast and Furious stars Ali Fazal and Gal Gadot will finally share screen space in this one after having missed out on acting together in the hit franchise!

Gal Gadot and Ali Fazal

Victoria & Abdul star Ali Fazal and ‘Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot – have both been a part of the Fast and Furious franchise earlier. While Gal’s Gisele Yashar was seen in Fast & Furious (2009) and Fast Five (2011), before being bumped off in Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Bollywood actor Ali Fazal made a special appearance as Safar in Furious 7 (2015). Interestingly, Gal too makes an appearance in the same film, but through archive footage and flash-back photographs, and so the two do not share screen space. Well, let’s see if the two stars make up for that in Death On The Nile!
