Looking back: The week in Bollywood’s fashion

The Indian film industry and audiences erupted with joy as we bagged two Oscars over the weekend. Closer home to Bollywood in Mumbai, FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week kept the stars busy all through last week, looking fabulous, occupying front rows, and for some, stopping shows with their beauty. Despite that, a few celebrities ventured to other spaces to promote their films, attend launches, and more. Here’s a round up of the sartorial measure of the week gone by:

Our girl Jacqueline Fernandez was invited to the Annual Academy Award viewing party to benefit the Elton John AIDS foundation, and she showed up looking absolutely gorgeous in this retro corset gown by Namita Alexander.

Dimpled-beauty Priety Zinta was at the same viewing party, looking sharp in a black Dior dress that has us wondering if fringes are back in fashion.

Rani Mukerji attended promotions for her film Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway in a typical House of Masaba sari. We’ve got to admit our surprise on seeing her in a label with such a funky vibe, given that she rarely experiments with her style.

Rakulpreet Singh’s filmi pants are everything! With posters of retro films as a montage throughout the pants, they’re giving kitsch and we’re here for it. We like that she’s teamed with a simple black top, that not styled boringly.

Tara Sutaria got back on her feet after a fortnight of flu and chose boss girl vibes in this powder blue and white formal set by FENDI.

Keerthy Suresh stepped out for promotions of Dasara in a Shay by Shubham number. We love the sheer black plays on her.
