Resort 2022 Collection Celia: Johanna Ortiz taps Havana and Haiti for her latest collection

Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz’s feminine silhouettes showcase effortless contemporary elegance. Her designs are fashionable and luxurious yet eco-conscious, sustainable, and considers its impact on the environment. The designer continues to use certified fabric such as GOTS cotton, FSC viscose and other organic materials reducing the use of chemicals and toxic materials on all processes and ensuring that they come from responsibly managed sources that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

In her latest Resort 2022 collection Celia, Johanna travels to the epicenter of South America, a tropical destination. It’s little Havana and Little Haití with that 50’s architecture in desaturated pastel color palette bringing back that festive spirit of Cuban stars and elegance of women. The silhouettes are feminine, easy and very flattering capturing the lightness of Resort destinations: clothes to slip on, breeze through, and lounge about – always in style.

Each season Johanna Ortiz collaborates with artisans that add to the Andean tradition for handcrafted beauty. Artisanal knowledge, local materials and inherited traditions create native splendor and support local communities. The accessories created for Celia are reminiscent of traditional jewelry from indigenous tribes, combining seeds with wood and natural stones. Earrings are made from gold plated modern rings combined with natural Palma de Iraca and hand embroidered with mini sequins, a perfect balance of artisanal sophistication.
