Upcoming UAE public holidays in 2022

Get your calendars and planners ready. Here’s a list of holidays for the year

If there’s one thing every working individual looks forward to in the UAE, it is the list of holidays for the year.  After a fun couple of long weekends over the last couple of months, everyone is back to work but with just one question on their mind. When is the next holiday?

The first public holiday in the UAE happened on January 2. This long weekend came in light after the changes were being made to the UAE work week in 2022. The next holiday however is Eid Al Fitr 2022. This holiday is expected to fall on Sunday May 1, depending on which night the crescent moon is visible. Depending on which day it falls, the Eid Al Fitr holiday could give us a five-day break, marking the end of Ramadan 2022.

Arafat Day is the next day off in the UAE and is expected to fall on Friday July 8. Eid Al-Adha is expected to start on Saturday July 9, giving residents an off from July 9 to 12. The next holiday that month will be on July 30, Islamic New Year.

The month of October will see a holiday too, Prophet Muhammad’s birthday falls on the 8th of the month. This holiday is followed by Commemoration Day on December 1 and UAE National Day from December 2 to December 3.

While all the holidays listed are subject to confirmation by the UAE government closer to the date, it can’t hurt to start planning on how you can spend your holidays.
