Varun Dhawan – Janhvi Kapoor starrer looks promising as they showcase Bawaal trailer at a mega-event in Dubai!

The trailer launch of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal was one grand affair. Held aboard the historic floating hotel Queen Elizabeth II in Dubai, the venue resonated with the theme of the Nitesh Tiwari directorial and the makers pointed out that it was an ode to history. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film will be a direct to digital release and is set for a global premiere on Amazon Prime on July 21st.

Besides the leading pair, also in attendance were Warda Nadiadwala, co-producer Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Manish Menghani – Director and Head of Content Acquisition and Licensing at Amazon Prime Video India.

In the trailer, Varun is seen playing a history teacher Ajay Dixit, while Janhvi plays his wife Nisha. The Kanpur-based couple take a life-changing trip to Europe where they come across a former World War 2 concentration camp of Poland. The trailer suggests that while exploring the historical place and the event, the two also explore their own relationship. The film has been shot across Amsterdam, Kanpur, Paris, Germany and Poland. The trailer was gripping and intriguing and certainly looked promising.

 

While they refused to divulge any details about the storyline, the makers as well as the cast shared their experiences of shooting the film. Varun also made an interesting revelation as he shared that the school in Kanpur where a segment of the film was shot was the same school where his father, filmmaker David Dhawan had studied as a child. Not just that, Nitesh revealed that he too hails from Kanpur.
