Dhanush’s ‘Asuran,’ adapted to ‘Narappa in Telugu, starring Venkatesh, raises expectations

The Telugu action-drama Narappa is directed by Srikanth Addala, jointly produced by D. Suresh Babu and Kalaippuli S. Thanu, written by Vetrimaaran and, stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Priyamani and, Karthik Rathnam in the lead roles. The movie which is based on a novel called Vekkai, written by Poomani. Asuran, bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu, bagged the National award for Best Tamil Film , and won Dhanush his second Best Actor win after Aadukalam(2011).

Prime members in India and across 240 countries and territories can stream the exclusive digital premiere of Narappa starting 20th July 2021, as part of the Prime Day line-up for 2021.

With a stellar star cast and riveting storyline by national award winner, Vetrimaaran, the streaming service brings to its audience an engaging drama which beautifully narrates a regular man’s sacrifice for his family in a world filled with chaos and uncertainty. A Telugu adaptation of the Tamil super-hit film Asuran, the story of this film, follows the protagonist- Narappa, a farmer hailing from a quaint village in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Directed by Srikanth Addala, the film is jointly produced by D. Suresh Babu & Kalaippuli S. Thanu and features superstar Venkatesh Daggubati along with Priyamani, Karthik Rathnam, and Rajsekhar Aningi in the pivotal roles.

The trailer of Narappa garnered over two and a half million views in less than twenty-four hours. Narappa dropped the special teaser on the eve of the veteran actor’s 60th birthday that showcased both the young and old version of Southern superstar Venkatesh.
