The direct-to-digital Netflix release has Dhanush play a witty gangster from Madurai
The trailer of Dhanush’s upcoming action thriller Jagame Thandhiram was recently released on Netflix. The trailer showcases the South star as a gun-toting Madurai-based gangster who travels to London to take on a local gangster. The character is played by Game of Thrones actor James Cosmo. The film that marks the maiden collaboration between the film’s director Karthik Subbaraj and Dhanush, will premiere on Netflix on June 18.

Buzz is that the Tamil film will also be dubbed in Hindi ahead of its direct-to-digital release. Dhanush – who is already a pan-India star – enjoys a huge fan following across and will soon be seen opposite Sara Ali Khan in Aanand L. Rai’s romantic drama Atrangi Re that also stars Akshay Kumar.
