Game changers all ! Actors who have made a difference to Hindi cinema roles!

Deepika Padukone

With three Filmfare Awards, she features in list of the nation’s most popular personalities, and Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. Her career turned with the 2012 Homi Adajania-directed romantic comedy Cocktail followed by Ayan Mukerji’s romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani as Naina Talwar, a “shy wallflower,” which marked a departure from the glamorous characters she has played before. In Rohit Shetty’s action-comedy film Chennai Express, she stunned audiences as a Tamil girl on the run from her father (a local don), which required that she adopt a Tamil accent. She then played a headstrong Bengali architect who cares for her hypochondriac father (played by Amitabh Bachchan), in Shoojit Sircar’s comedy-drama Piku (2015) and in 2020 she started her own production house Ka Productions. and produced Chhapaak (2020), a drama by Meghna Gulzar, in which she starred as an acid attack survivor (based on Laxmi Agarwal). Padukone will also produce and star in a remake of the American comedy film The Intern, and will team with Prabhas in an as-yet untitled science fiction film helmed by Nag Ashwin. In November 2020, she begun shooting alongside Shah Rukh Khan for YRF’s next project titled Pathan. She is also set to star opposite Hrithik Roshan in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter, scheduled for release in September 2022.
