The resort bowled us over with its array of family-friendly activities and a multitude of facilities to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable weekend

We recently checked out the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island and we came away refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed after a well-spent luxurious weekend. Spoilt for choice with its multitude of facilities and activities, read on to find out what why the resort makes for that perfect staycation destination:

LOCATION: Conveniently situated on Ras Al Khaimah’s Marjan Island, this sprawling and luxurious beachfront resort is an hour’s drive from Dubai.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
A haven for beach-lovers, the resort boasts of a private white sandy beach, seven temperature-controlled swimming pools, including an indoor pool, restaurants offering the yummiest cuisines, rooms with the most gorgeous views, water sports, and – the bit that we loved the most – the stunning floating sea pool. For those looking for a bit of pampering and indulgence, one can head to the resort’s luxurious spa which offers seven treatment rooms, including a couple’s room. And for the fitness freaks, there’s a well-equipped fitness centre. Then there’s the Tarzan Boat – a water park featuring two slides, two high dive boards and a rope swing.

There’s Chuckles Kid’s Club where little ones can enjoy the climbing wall, arcade games and an extensive outdoor playground featuring swings and trampolines, the Pirate Boat Aqua Zone, bouncy castle and gigantic inflatable football darts.
CULINARY TREATS:
For those looking to indulge their taste-buds, on offer are 13 restaurants and bars offering multicultural dishes including four specialty restaurants. The buffet at breakfast is a treat for food-lovers. We tried the Italian at Vespa, tucked in Asian delicacies at Sanchaya and enjoyed mouth-watering Turkish dishes at Meze. The resort has something to tickle all palates.
SERVICE & HOSPITALITY:
This is where we came away most impressed. The staff is courteous, polite, well-groomed and attentive.
HYGIENE:
We saw high levels of sanitization being maintained not just in the rooms but across the property too. The Resort has obtained the Stay Safe Certificate by Bureau Veritas. Also social distancing is being actively maintained and all Covid-related health protocols were being followed.
STAYCATION OFFER:
Their fabulous summer staycation deal is just not to be missed – families of four including two adults and two children can enjoy a one-night stay with breakfast starting from just AED 499 until 31st August.

WHAT WE RECOMMEND:We LOVED soaking up the sun in the stunning floating sea-pool. Most scenic and totally relaxing, you could take a dip in the pool or just lounge by the deck on the cosy beanies. We were most reluctant to leave the bay when they shut at 7 pm. Definitely something you should check out! Also for the social media buzzers, there are some beautiful click-friendly spots. The swings on the water-front make for insta-friendly pics. Also nothing to beat the experience of hitting the beach and taking a dip in the pristine waters.
