The first season of Never Kiss Your Best Friend made us fall in love with the exhilarating chemistry between Tanie and Sumer, leaving us wanting for more. The wait is finally over, as the second season of ZEE5 Global’s popular series is returning with its lead actors, Nakuul Mehta and Anya Singh along with Karan Wahi and Sarah Jane Dias with yet another youthful take on love and messy adult relationships on the 29th of April.
Helmed by Harsh Dedhia and produced by 11:11 Productions, Never Kiss Your Best Friend Season 2, is a perfect way to take a break from tentpole titles, crime thrillers and dark comedies. In this season, Tanie essayed by Anya is moving ahead in her personal and professional life, as Karan Wahi’s character makes an entry into her life. But things go haywire as Sumer, played by Nakuul, also returns to complete some unfinished business.
Talking about the show, Nakuul said, “I totally relate to the show even though I am married and have a child. But to even have a marriage, you need to go through this process of dating and friendship. The show took me back to the time when I was dating my wife. All of us have experienced heartbreaks, jealousy, love, friendship and these are human emotions which I think would be lifeless if not experienced.”
He further said, “It’s a light slice of a lifetime kind of a show and I think, with the kind of world we are in today, we need some love and happiness. This show is like a pizza; It has a beautiful base from the first season, new characters, a new story, and new elements making the perfect topping for the base. Basically, it’s a show that will make us all feel relaxed and happy.”
The new season will also feature Sapna Pabbi, Javed Jaffrey, Niki Walia, and Deepti Bhatnagar in supporting roles.
