A look at Vicky Kaushal in character proves that the actor has become Sam Manekshaw. He’s unrecognisable as anyone other than Sam Bahadur, as Manekshaw was fondly called. Manekshaw holds the distinction of being the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, and the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal. Gulzar takes us on a journey of his life and illustrious career, along with Fatima Sana Sheikh (Indira Gandhi) and Sanya Malhotra (as Silloo Manekshaw) in key roles in the film.
