Dubai’s Museum of the Future to open on February 22

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has announced today

Dubai’s much-awaited and one of the most-looked forward to landmark attractions, the Museum of the Future will open to the public on February 22. The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday (February 3).

Spanning an area of 30,000 square metres, the seven-storey structure is 77m tall and has already been lauded and celebrated globally as an architectural marvel. In fact, the structure has already made its spot among the most beautiful museums. In a list compiled by National Geographic magazine, the museum was named as one of the 14 most beautiful museums on the planet.

The stainless steel façade is illuminated by Arabic calligraphy designed by the Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej. The museum will be powered by 4,000 megawatts of solar energy produced by a station connected to the building.
