Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur recently shared a deeply personal moment on social media—a soul-stirring poem written and first posted by his daughter, Kaveri Kapur. Moved by the depth of her words, he chose to post it on his own, touched by the beauty of the poem and the powerful realization that his daughter has grown into a remarkable artist with a voice of her own.
Along with the video shared by Shekhar Kapur, he revealed that, “Kaveri refused to send me a Collab request .. just the video ‘write whatever comments you feel’ she said”. Shekhar Kapur also went on to share on social media reminiscing how his daughter has grown into a brilliant artist, he writes “The depth in those simple words is what’s so brilliant about her poems/ songs .. that little girl that would always reach out to me spread her arms upwards and plead ‘Godi .. daddy’”
In his heartfelt caption, Shekhar pondered over her maturity and wisdom, wondering if it was life, genetics, or even something from a past life that shaped her so. Expressing his admiration and love, he ended with a tender note: “Whichever is it ..can’t wait to start my film in which she’s also doing a pivotal part ..
Love you @kaverikaour .. don’t ever lose your childhood.”
Widely regarded as one of India’s most respected filmmakers, Shekhar Kapur’s journey has been anything but ordinary, marked by evolution, courage, and creativity. From father to mentor, and now a creative collaborator, he stands at a beautiful crossroads. He is ready to bring Masoom 2 to life, this time with his daughter, Kaveri Kapur, in a pivotal role.
